Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
JTPST (Journal of Translational Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows recognized principles of publication ethics and considers the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and other relevant scholarly publishing organizations.
DUTIES OF EDITORS
Decision on Publication
The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for making the final decision regarding the publication of submitted manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's scientific quality, originality, relevance, ethical standards, reviewer recommendations, and the journal's editorial policies.
Fairness and Impartiality
Manuscripts are evaluated on their academic and scientific merit. Editorial decisions should not be influenced by an author's race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and disclose information only to the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisers, and other individuals directly involved in the editorial process.
JTPST follows a double-blind peer-review process, and editors must take reasonable measures to protect the identities of both authors and reviewers.
Conflicts of Interest
Editors must disclose and appropriately manage any personal, professional, financial, or other conflicts of interest. Editors should not participate in decisions concerning manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
Unpublished information obtained through the editorial process must not be used for personal or professional advantage without the author's written permission.
DUTIES OF REVIEWERS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in assessing the quality and suitability of manuscripts and provides authors with constructive feedback that can help improve their work.
Promptness
Reviewers should accept an assignment only when they have appropriate expertise and sufficient time to complete the review. If a reviewer feels unqualified or unable to complete the review within the required period, they should promptly inform the editor.
Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, copy, discuss, or use manuscript content for purposes other than the review without authorization from the editor.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, professionally, and constructively. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate, and comments should be supported by clear academic or scientific reasoning.
Identification of Relevant Sources
Reviewers should identify important published work that has not been appropriately cited. If they become aware of substantial similarity between the submitted manuscript and another published or known work, they should inform the editor.
Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any financial, personal, professional, academic, competitive, or collaborative relationship that could influence their assessment. They should decline the review where a significant conflict of interest exists.
DUTIES OF AUTHORS
Reporting Standards
Authors of original research must present their findings accurately and provide sufficient methodological and supporting information to allow the work to be understood and, where appropriate, reproduced. Fabricated, falsified, or knowingly inaccurate information is unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention
Authors should retain relevant research data and supporting materials for a reasonable period after publication. Where appropriate and practicable, authors may be requested to provide underlying or supplementary data to the editors for verification.
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original. Material, ideas, data, or words obtained from other sources must be appropriately cited or quoted.
JTPST may screen submitted manuscripts using plagiarism-detection software. Manuscripts containing significant plagiarism may be rejected. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article may be retracted and appropriate action may be taken in accordance with the journal's plagiarism and retraction policies.
JTPST also considers relevant COPE flowcharts when handling suspected plagiarism and publication misconduct.
Duplicate or Redundant Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal. Substantial duplication of previously published work or data without appropriate disclosure is considered unethical.
If duplicate or redundant publication is identified, JTPST may reject the manuscript or take appropriate corrective action if the article has already been published.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must appropriately acknowledge and cite publications, data, ideas, and other sources that have contributed to their work.
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research. All individuals who meet the authorship criteria should be appropriately listed.
The corresponding author is responsible for communicating with the journal and should ensure that all listed authors have approved the final manuscript and agreed to its submission.
Funding Disclosure
All sources of financial support for the research or publication should be appropriately disclosed in the manuscript.
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could influence, or could reasonably be perceived to influence, the research, interpretation of findings, or conclusions.
Errors in Published Articles
If authors discover a significant error or inaccuracy in their published article, they should promptly notify the editorial office and cooperate with the journal in correcting or, where necessary, retracting the article.
DUTIES OF THE PUBLISHER
The publisher is responsible for supporting the journal in maintaining editorial independence, protecting intellectual property and copyright, respecting the privacy of authors and reviewers, and supporting transparent and ethical publication practices.
When allegations of research misconduct, plagiarism, fraudulent publication, or other serious ethical violations arise, the publisher will work with the editors to investigate the matter and take appropriate action.
PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MISCONDUCT
JTPST maintains mechanisms for receiving and investigating complaints relating to publication ethics, research misconduct, plagiarism, authorship, conflicts of interest, peer review, and other concerns.
Complaints received from authors, reviewers, readers, editors, or other relevant parties will be considered seriously and investigated appropriately. Where necessary, JTPST may consult relevant experts, institutions, funding bodies, or applicable ethical guidelines.
Corrections and Retractions
JTPST is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scientific record.
Published articles may be corrected, updated, or retracted when significant errors, unreliable findings, plagiarism, research misconduct, or other serious concerns are identified.
When an article is retracted, the original article will normally remain accessible with a clear retraction notice to preserve the integrity and transparency of the scholarly record. Corrections or errata may be issued when appropriate.
JTPST follows the relevant COPE guidelines and recommendations when handling corrections and retractions.
Article Withdrawal
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript in accordance with the journal's Withdrawal Policy. Withdrawal requests must be submitted to the editorial office and, where required, confirmed by all authors.
Manuscripts that have already been published cannot be withdrawn and may only be considered for retraction in accordance with the journal's Retraction Policy.
Editorial Independence
JTPST is committed to ensuring that commercial, financial, or other external interests do not compromise editorial independence or ethical decision-making.
Editors are expected to protect the integrity of the academic record and to act independently of commercial considerations. The journal remains committed to publishing appropriate corrections, clarifications, retractions, and other notices whenever necessary.
JTPST follows the principles of responsible scholarly publishing and will take appropriate action whenever ethical or publication-related concerns arise.
